Mixed Media on Canvas.

The actual Pump Room was built in the 1860's to provide 'health-giving' sea water to guests at Brighton's Grand Hotel. Apparently every room had hot and cold taps and then a third tap for sea water! Now officially titled The World Famous Pump Room it serves very tasty ice-cream which undoubtedly tastes better. Mark Brady, the slightly eccentric cycling mad owner, bought the original painting for his mum's 80th birthday which is nice.

This relief art canvas was created by Georgina Smith in her studio in Brighton . Each artwork is built up of multiple layers of card, cut to create a 3D image, which is then drawn and painted. Her paintings centre on familiar buildings found in Brighton, with a focus on those that have a sense of faded seaside charm.

Dimensions 300x400mm without frame
